MatrixLM is an independent artificial intelligence project operated from Belgium. We develop and operate language models, model infrastructure, and related software.

We collect and process information that is reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve MatrixLM.

MatrixLM processes prompts and conversations in order to generate responses and provide the service.

Private user conversations are not used to train MatrixLM models unless the user has explicitly chosen to contribute that content for that purpose.

Prompts, conversations, and other submitted content may still be processed where reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose technical problems, and enforce applicable terms.

Operational user data and datasets used for model development are treated as separate purposes of processing.

MatrixLM develops, trains, evaluates, and tests artificial intelligence models.

Model-development data may come from sources such as licensed datasets, publicly available material, synthetic data, data created for MatrixLM, and other lawfully obtained sources.

Where model-development data contains personal information, we assess the applicable purpose, legal basis, and safeguards required for that processing.

We aim to minimize unnecessary personal information in model-development datasets and apply safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data and processing.

Additional information about model-development data may be provided where required by applicable law.

Most personal information processed through MatrixLM is provided directly by you or generated through your use of the service.

We may also receive limited information from providers that support the operation of MatrixLM, such as authentication, hosting, storage, security, or other infrastructure providers.

For model development, information may also originate from the sources described in the Model development section above.

MatrixLM is operated from Belgium and is being developed with a preference for European infrastructure and data minimization.

Where reasonably possible and appropriate, we seek to host and process personal information within the European Economic Area.

Some providers supporting MatrixLM may process limited personal information outside Belgium or the European Economic Area.

Where a transfer of personal information outside the European Economic Area requires safeguards under applicable data protection law, an appropriate transfer mechanism will be used.

Retention periods depend on the type of information and why it is processed.

Conversation data may be retained until you delete the relevant conversation or account, subject to technical backup periods, security requirements, and applicable legal obligations.

Technical, authentication, and security logs may be retained for limited periods where necessary for security, abuse prevention, reliability, and incident investigation.

When personal information is no longer required, we aim to delete or anonymize it. Deleted information may remain temporarily in restricted backups until those backups are overwritten or expire.

Subject to applicable law and its conditions and exceptions, you may have the right to request access to personal information we process about you.

You may also have the right to request correction or deletion of personal information, restriction of certain processing, or portability of certain information.

You may have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests.

MatrixLM uses artificial intelligence systems to generate outputs in response to user requests.

The generation of an AI response does not by itself mean that MatrixLM is making a decision about you that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Unless we specifically tell you otherwise for a particular service, we do not use your personal information for decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affect you within the meaning of Article 22 of the GDPR.

We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction.

The safeguards used depend on the relevant system, information, and risk and may evolve as MatrixLM develops.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. We therefore also seek to minimize the amount of personal information processed and retained.
